- Superintendent's Report. Brenda Blackburn, Superintendent, welcomed students back to school and thanked everyone for their hard work preparing for the new school year. She provided some back to school facts and figures. On day 6 of the new school year, there were 33,940 students enrolled, which is 695 more than last year on the same day and 190 more students than predicted by the Strom Thurmond Study. The District has hired 380 certificated employees and 130 non-certificated employees. The Maintenance Department has completed $2.8 million worth of projects during the summer, including the set-up of 12 additional mobile units throughout the District, installation of an irrigation system at Cross High for baseball and softball fields, renovation of 22 classrooms at Goose Creek High, and numerous other projects.Recorded
