- Chair Wofford called the meeting to order, a quorum was declared, and the media had been notified.Recorded
- Chair Wofford led those present in the Pledge of Allegiance and the Board observed a moment of silence.Recorded
- David Morbitzer, head coach of the Hanahan High School Boys Track Team, recognized his team for winning the Class AAA 2017 State Championship. He spoke about the individual accomplishments of the team members that contributed to the team winning the championship.Recorded
- Ms. Carlen presented a Powerpoint presentation with budget updates on revenues and expenditures for general fund, special revenue, capital project, and food service funds through May 31, 2017. Discussion was held on the information provided.Recorded
- State and Federal Report Card Update. Dr. O'Gorman provided a Powerpoint presentation on updates to the state and federal report card. He explained the differences in standardized testing for all grade levels from 2012 to present. Graduating students will still receive a high school diploma; however, beginning with the freshman class of 2018-2019 students will have the option of earning seals of distinction. Dr. O'Gorman explained the different types of of seals and the criteria for each. For the first time, testing reports on kindergarten through second grade students will be tracked. Discussion was held on the presentation.Recorded
