Berkeley County School District — Board of Education, September 19, 2017
Members present: Mac McQuillin, Shannon Lee, Sally Wofford, Frank Wright, Ann Conder, Kelly Spann, Michael Ramsey, Laura Kelly, David Barrow
- Chair Wofford called the meeting to order, a quorum was declared, and the media had been notified.Recorded
- Chair Wofford led those present in the Pledge of Allegiance and the Board observed a moment of silence.Recorded
- Superintendent's Report. Dr. Eddie Ingram, District Superintendent, announced that District designated make-up days on the instructional calendar will be used for the 3 days missed during the recent hurricane. The dates are October 16, 2017; March 19, 2018; and March 30, 2018. Dr. Ingram thanked Sharon Blackwood and Teacher Forum for the update. He believes the most important asset of the District is the people. He spoke about the importance of family and the recent passing of a District maintenance employee, Francis "Red" Wright. Since joining the District, Dr. Ingram has visited 41 schools and will complete the goal of visiting all schools during the first 30 days. During the next phase of his entry plan, he will be visiting the District's support facilities.Recorded
