Berkeley County School District — Board of Education, February 27, 2018
Members present: Shannon Lee, Sally Wofford, Ann Conder, Kelly Spann, Michael Ramsey, and David Barrow. Laura Kelly and Mac McQuillin joined the meeting during Executive Session.
- Chair Wofford called the meeting to order, a quorum was declared, and the media had been notified.Recorded
- To assist in earning his citizenship badge with the Boy Scouts of America, Cosmo Mosilio led those present in the Pledge of Allegiance and then the Board observed a moment of silence.Recorded
- Tana Lee, Director of Career and Technical Education (CTE), introduced the District's eight CTE Ambassadors: Molly Mix and Savannah Hollifield - Cane Bay High School; Kastor Collier and Sydaija Smalls - Goose Creek High School; Kayla Stone and Shalyn Beasley - Hanahan High School; Daniel Wood - Stratford High School; and Valree Johnson - Timberland High School. She provided a short introduction video for the group.Recorded
- Superintendent's Report. Dr. Eddie Ingram, Superintendent, congratulated two high school wrestlers for winning the state championship last weekend: Cooper Youngblood from Timberland High in the 182 pound weight class and Jacob D’Ambrosio from Cane Bay High in the 132 pound class. Dr. Ingram announced that Cane Bay High’s Fatima Maya Perez won Home Telecom’s directory cover competition. Her artwork was selected as the front cover for the 2018 edition of the company’s telephone directory. Dr. Ingram spoke about judging the school science fair at Marrington Elementary School earlier in the day. He noted that he was continuing 3rd quarter school visits and during these visits he would be Interviewing 6 students from each school.Recorded
