Berkeley County School District — Board of Education, June 19, 2018

• Office of Diversity Board Presentation.  Dr. Glenda Levine, Chief Diversity Officer, shared a Powerpoint presentation on diversity in the District. She provided charts and graphs showing the race and ethnicity make-up for administrator level employees, teachers, and students. She also provided diversity and multicultural inclusion goals and information about the new Diversity Advisory Council.  Discussion was held on the information provided.Recordedmoved by Sally Wofford, seconded by Michael Ramsey
• Monthly Financial Update.  Ashley Smith provided a Powerpoint presentation updating the Board on the expenditures and revenues for general fund, special revenue, EIA fund, capital project, bond referendum, and child nutrition budgets for the month of April 2018.Recordedmoved by Kelly Spann, seconded by Sally Wofford
• Financial Update on Capital Projects.  Gene Sides, Director of Planning and Construction, stated that the window and HVAC replacement for Mount Holly Elementary had been contracted for $106,620.60 to Stubbs Muldrow Herin architects for design services and would be funded by the Abbeville Lawsuit Fund.  He noted that design services for 7 roofing projects were in the initial approval process stage. but construction had not been scheduled for the projects at this time:  Package A (MenRiv/Hanahan High) $42,070.00; Package B (Cainhoy Elementary/College Park Middle/Stratford High) $22,015.00; Package C (Berkeley Alternative/Berkeley High) $63,750.00.Recordedmoved by Sally Wofford, seconded by Kelly Spann
