- Dr. Karen Whitley, Chief Human Resources Officer, presented revised policy GBEC for second and final reading. Motion by Kelly Spann, second by Sally Wofford. The committee voted unanimously to approve second and final reading of revised Policy GBEC - Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace and Schools.Recorded

- Marcie Abrahamson and Steve Brandenburg, OSHA/Safety Director, shared information on random and pre-employment drug screening. Steve Brandenburg acknowledged that all employees should be tested from a safety standpoint. The screening in the long run would be a savings on premiums, cost savings on injuries, and would ensure safety of the persons transporting students and working on vehicles that transport students. Marcie Abrahamson provided a proposed cost analysis at 25%. Extensive discussion was held regarding which employees would be tested, total cost, and effect on teacher recruitment. Chair Wofford suggested using 10% instead of 25% during the pilot program.Recorded
