- Spotlight on Innovation- Multiage Program at College Park Elementary. Dr. Wulf introduced Amanda Prince, College Park Elementary Principal. Ms. Prince and several teachers from her school presented a Powerpoint presentation on the multiage program at the school. They talked about why they decided to use this unique, innovative and flexible approach to learning and explained how the program works. They currently offer a 1st and 2nd grade class and the program is being expanded to 3rd and 4th grade next year. They provided examples of the cross-age buddies system, personalized learning, and voice and choice. They emphasized how the program empowers the students, promotes collaboration and teamwork, and helps fosters social emotional learning. The multiage class started a charity call K.I.D.S (Kids Inspired and Determined to Serve). The students learned to make greeting cards and sold them to raise money. They raised $1,360 and sent half the money to provide water to a school in Africa and used the other half to buy books for children in the MUSC Children's Hospital.Recorded
