Berkeley County School District — Board of Education, June 11, 2019

• Berkeley Education Center Transition.  Mr. Thomas spoke about the Berkeley Education Center renovation project.  Maintenance should be completing finish work on the interior by the beginning of July and then Technology will be completing cabling and computer set-up in the new offices.  The first board meeting in August will be held in the new building, with a public ribbon cutting ceremony to be scheduled in August.Recordedmoved by Mac McQuillin, seconded by Frank Wright
• Bradford Pointe Attendance Zone.  Mr. Jackson explained that the District received a request from a developer that had purchased land in the Nexton area.  The area where the subdivision is being developed is zoned for 2 different elementary schools and they requested that the District zone the entire area for one school.  Extensive discussion was held on the information presented.Recordedmoved by Frank Wright, seconded by Mac McQuillin
