- Committee Chair Mac McQuillin called the meeting to order, declared a quorum was present and the media had been notified.Recorded
- Ashley Smith presented on ESSER III funds updating the Board on the grant specifics stating Berkeley County School District's allocation is $72.5M and the grant has been extended until September 30, 2024. Ms. Smith explained the five assurances that Superintendent Jackson must sign along with the 15 allowable uses for the funds. Ms. Smith shared the Learning Loss plan with the Board and the recommendations from administration.Recorded
- Diane Driggers, Chief Technology and Infrastructure Officer introduced Mr. JoNathan Roberts to update the Board on the districts capital projects. Mr. Roberts gave updates on the addition at Cane Bay Middle stating the new maximum enrollment capacity will increase to over 1300 students and the addition is scheduled to open in January 2022. Mr. Roberts also gave an update on the new Carnes Crossroads K-8 school with a targeted completion date in the summer of 2023. He talked about other projects around the district mentioning Devon Forest Elementary's roof replacement, Philip Simmons Elementary/Middle Schools athletic field project being shared with the Point Hope community, Sanagree Middle's addition, Sangaree Elementary's roundabout and crosswalk, modular classroom installation at Foxbank and Nexton Elementary schools, and the track and drainage systems at Berkeley and Goose Creek High schools.Recorded
