Members present: Michael Ramsey, Kathy Littleton, Joe Baker, Yvonne Bradley, Angelina Davenport, Cindy Coats, Jerald Borden
- Vice Chair Michael Ramsey called the meeting to order, declared a quorum was present, and the media had been notified.Recorded
- Mike Miller with Numerix Solutions, presented the Board with an updated assignment plan for the opening of Bee Tree Elementary and Midtown Middle schools. Mr. Miller explained the proposed attendance areas that will be affected for the new Bee Tree Elementary school will be Nexton, Foxbank, Moncks Corner, and Whitesville elementary schools. Berkeley Middle will be affected by the new Midtown Middle school. Mr. Miller shared the new options are in response to community and Board feedback. These changes will help with overcrowding in schools. Discussion was held. The Board liked the new Option F to reverse all Carolyn Lewis School moves from the initial draft back to the current attendance area and K-5 changes to Bee Tree/Nexton (Bradford Pointe) and Bee Tree/Whitesville (17A and Black Tom Rd area). Further changes to Foxbank/Moncks Corner (Steeple Chase and Fairmont Pines) then 6-8 change Berkeley MS to align with current Berkeley HS lines. T he Board thanked Mr. Miller for the work put in and an option that can be agreed on.Recorded
