- Katie Tanner shared that the district had conducted seven community meetings receiving feedback regarding attendance lines to ensure that the long-term needs for students and schools are met. Mrs. Tanner presented administrations recommendation to consider Option F with attendance boundaries for Carolyn Lewis School to follow the initial proposal with Berkeley Commons and 2nd Avenue area east of 17A attend Devon Forest Elementary, College Park Middle, and Stratford High as reflected in Option B. Discussion was held and after two friendly amendments there was a motion by Sally Wofford, second by Angelina Davenpport. The Board voted 7-2 to accept the recommendation of the administration to approve Option F, with the following clarifications: that the attendance boundaries for the Carolyn Lewis School will follow the initial proposal, with Berkeley Commons and the 2nd Avenue area east of 17A attending Devon Forest Elementary, College Park Middle, and Stratford High, as reflected in Option B; that Option H will be applied for middle school and high school assignments for the Wildcat tract, [using] Fairwinds [Boulevard as the divider]; and that the administration is authorized to establish a grandfathering provision and sibling clause permitting students enrolled as of December 15 at impacted schools to remain in their current school zones, provided they furnish their own transportation and have siblings concurrently enrolled at the same school.
